The Efforts Made by the Government to Improve Air Quality
Millions of lives seem to be in danger due to the advances in air pollution, not to mention the control and regulation of designated substances like asbestos, lead, radon. Nonetheless, the government is on the lookout to ensure that the quality of air has improved. Some steps that the government has undertaken are somewhat not clear to most people. Some of the government efforts are as such:
Industrial standards
The government requires that industries that produce atmospheric wastes to meet certain environmental criteria. As a result, unsatisfactory industrial buildings or site layouts that may cause extreme pollutant concentration are not likely to be endorsed. Enacting Laws

Air Action Plan
The Air Action Plan has stated at least 28 actions that will help to improve the quality of air by reducing air pollution from its sources. The government has dedicated funds that will help in the implementation of its energy plan. This new energy plan’s success will be in partnership with the industries, communities, and other government agencies. There is also support for air shed planning efforts in some communities and the continuous involvement in air quality health index. The air quality health index is a public information that promotes daily healthy living from deleterious effects of air pollution.
Air Care on Road Programs
Air care focuses on heavy-duty vehicle testing. This is done from a learning system to an application system. The system imposes fines on drivers with high-polluting diesel vehicles. Consequently, this program somewhat promotes environmental friendly fleets that lead to improved air quality.
Individual Responsibility
While the government is doing all they can to improve the quality of air, it should be an individual initiative since every human being enjoys its results.
